Saddle Brook Free Public Library is seeking an energetic, reliable and customer-service oriented individual to join our circulation staff. They should have a demonstrated capacity to deal effectively and courteously with the public and to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
Responsibilities include, assisting patrons at the circulation desk (checking items in and out, renewing items, registering patrons, handling fee collection, etc.), answering phones, preparing and receiving interlibrary loans, shelving, and other duties as assigned. Light lifting and bending required. Strong computer skills required. Library experience (especially within BCCLS) preferred but not required.
Minimum qualifications for the position include a high school diploma and former work experience.
The position is for 19 hours per week, with schedule as follows, Monday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday 1:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and Thursday 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Plus up to two Saturdays (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) per month. Hours are exactly as listed and are not flexible.
Starting salary for the position is $15.92 an hour.
